Delighting in truth

Picture a child’s face lighting up on being given an ice cream. The child’s reaction is a bit of a window into how God delights in his people. “The Lord takes delight in his people.” Unfortunately, there are times when we do not delight in ourselves nor in other people. The problem is that life leaves its scars, we can receive negative messages about ourselves and God in our early years. We can also carry scars from our own sin. Prayer and reflection helps us to accept the truth about ourselves and God and to believe that God delights in his people.
