The question about divorce

I’ve been to many weddings. Love is palpable and alive. The promises the couple make are full of hope. Marriages are wonderful causes of celebration. The ceremony, photos and banquet are life-giving and beautiful. Then life changes. Dreams die. Relationships fracture and life fades. It’s not through lack of effort or planned failure. Sometimes it just is. As a gospel church, love is our only response. Seeing the pain we must respond with generosity and compassion. In the words of Rumi: “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right doing there is a field. I'll meet you there.” We are called to this field.
