The Transfiguration of the Lord

Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14; Psalm 97;2 Peter 1:16-19; Mark 9:2-10

Sound….

Light…

Action

Transfiguration is “a complete change of appearance into a more beautiful or spiritual state.” The light of Christ transfigures us. The question is, from what to what or from whom to whom? The Greek word for transfiguration “metamorphoó” means transformation. On that mountain God said to us “This is my Son, Listen to him.” Christ’s words and deeds ask us to be living words and actions of God. Pray for the grace to receive the transforming light of the Son. We can’t be transformed without God’s grace.
