Answering Jesus’ call

Jesus sends his disciples out on a mission to heal without expectation of payment. He places further restrictions concerning what they may take with them - no money, no extra clothing. It is enough that they be given food for their work. These rules may not be practical today but the principles still apply. If I am self-seeking in ministry, then I block God’s work through me. I pray for openness and emptiness, and ask Jesus to remind me every now and then, that his ministry is always Good News.
