Jesus loved him

We do not know from the Gospels if the young man ever did sell his possessions and become a follower of Jesus. Perhaps we have spent many years doing our best to be a good Catholic Christian – then there is an unexpected challenge requiring a new commitment. It is easy to shrink from stepping out into the unknown. Even if I said “no” first time round, there is no reason not to say “yes” later on. Jesus is always there loving us into our full potential.
