Wisdom … makes for peace

The letter of James is full of real-life practical advice about harmony and justice within a community. Today highlights the dangers of jealousy and ambition – this is not an ambition to make the most of your talents, which is good, but “a self-seeking ambition” which hurts others. God’s wisdom, in contrast, “makes for peace, is kindly and considerate, full of compassion, shows itself by doing good” – this sounds like a much better environment to be in. Where and how can I put some of this into practice today? A good place to begin could be with prayer for wisdom.
