The Lord is at my side
The prophet Jeremiah and Jesus suffered rejection from the religious people of their day. The unbelieving Jews denounced Jeremiah for his uncompromising fidelity to God’s covenant; and denounced Jesus for blasphemy “because he says ‘I am the Son of God’.” Their minds and hearts were closed to Jesus. They ignored his works of healing, teaching, forgiving sins and raising the dead as powerful signs of his divine authority.
Lord Jesus, even though many ignored or rejected you, and tried to harm you, I believe in you. Hold me close, lest I waver.
