FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT
2 Chronicles 36:14-16, 19-23; Psalm 137:1-6; Ephesians 2:4-10; John 3:14-21
It is by grace that you have been saved, through faith
Disobedient Israel enslaved herself in the prison of exile. Only the merciful action of God could free and reinstate her in Jerusalem. Paul writes: “When we were dead through our sins, he brought us to life with Christ.” John’s Gospel: “God sent his Son into the world … so that through him the world might be saved.” Without Jesus we are enslaved in darkness. There’s no other Saviour. Renounce the darkness of sin. Choose the saving light of Jesus: “I believe in you, Jesus of Nazareth, as the meaning of the world and my life.”
