ST FRANCES OF ROME, RELIGIOUS (OPTIONAL)

Hosea 14:2-10; Psalm 81:6, 8-11; Mark 12:28-34

I am the Lord, your God: hear my voice

St Frances of Rome embodied the great commandment of Jesus: love God and our neighbour as myself. She listened to Jesus’ call. Frances was a wife, a mother, a woman of prayer who was dedicated to the service of the poor and dying. During our Lenten journey, St Frances of Rome reminds us of Jesus’ call to practise the disciplines of Lent: Prayer, Fasting (self-denial) and Almsgiving.
Lord, may these Lenten disciplines help me become generous in loving you, my neighbour as myself.
