Remember the marvels the Lord has done

Joseph’s coat – a symbol of his father Israel’s special love for him – evoked violent jealousy in his brothers. They decide to kill Joseph and snatch his coat. Sold into slavery Joseph will become his brothers’ saviour. In the Gospel, Jesus targets the religious leaders with the parable of the tenants of the vineyard. The vineyard is the Jewish Temple; the tenants the Chief Priests and Elders who’ll crucify Jesus, stripped naked in the coat of our humanity.
Through Joseph and Jesus, God’s plan of salvation triumphs over sin and death. Lord, help me live within your plan.
