These two now famous sisters, Martha and Mary always offer us something. The distinction that Jesus makes between them both and his preference for Mary, has often created much discussion for those who are so busy helping among us. Nevertheless, Martha and Mary both teach us something essential to human life, the offer of hospitality. Martha reminds us of the importance of being welcoming and Mary the gift of truly being present to the one welcomed. How do I go about welcoming? What helps me to become present?
