Go and do likewise

Our care for one another matters. This compassionate response to the other is practical, it is not abstract, but real and everyday support such as emptying the dishwasher or transporting the other to an appointment, all expressive of our love of God. We don't make distinctions between the everyday chores and our confessed love with everything we are for God. We care and reach out in help and in so doing allow our love to be acted upon. As the parable of the Good Samaritan reminds us, we are to live our faith in action. We are, as Jesus calls, to 'go and do likewise.'
