Labouring for God

St. Vincent de Paul’s life continues to inspire people to undertake works of charity. How does a life do that? God’s workers labour spiritually as well as temporally. In the midst of their work they abide in God’s mystical love. On entering the harvest the labourer often finds amongst the poorest and most downtrodden people a simple love of God that inspires his work. The labourer lives amongst these people and their squalor and through his holy life proclaims the Word of God for all time and all people. Is my labour timely and timeless?
