These two commandments

Love God, love neighbour. That’s all. Just two commandments and heaven’s gates open wide. Easy as! But, these two encompass the whole of life, and every relationship, and they never sleep! So often, what appears easy requires very hard work. Dear God, your commandments to love are given to ensure my happiness. To put you and others ahead of my own comfort calls for generosity and courage and, at times, they are more than I can manage. Strengthen me to overcome my weakness. Keep my love real and sincere. Amen.
