Bothering Jesus

A mother is desperate to help her daughter and believes Jesus can help. She will not take ‘no’ for an answer and doesn’t back off when she’s ignored. Her persistence pays off. Pleading for another, despite rebuke and ridicule, shows great love and generosity. We honour this Canaanite woman, who shared neither the faith nor culture of Jesus, for what she teaches us about the power of prayer when it is offered without concern for self. Read this passage. Pray it.
