There is a time for grieving

Following the death of his cousin, John, Jesus sought time and space to grieve. The needs of others overtook his own need, and his pity would nourish the people crowding round him, gifting them with hope and recharging his own energy for life. Companion of the sorrowful, fill me with the bread of your presence to sustain me in time of trouble, grief or doubt. Turn my mourning into gladness that I might follow your way of bringing to those in any kind of pain, fresh hope, joy and peace. Amen.
