ST IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA

Exodus 32:15–24, 30–34; Psalm 106; Matthew 13:31–35

Yeast hidden in flour

At the core of St. Ignatius’ life was the desire to find God in all things. This quest is like the yeast working in a hidden way yet influencing everything. Jesus’ hearers would have noticed what we miss. Three measures is a huge amount of flour – about 30 kilos, which would make a lot of bread! What does this suggest about the abundance of God? How does this invite us to imagine God and God’s reign in a radically different way?
