Being with Jesus

After Jesus talks about his coming death, we find misplaced desires and anger among his disciples. One asks that her sons be on his right and left in his kingdom. Jesus asks if they are able to drink ‘the cup’ of his passion. Ironically, the next time such placements are found is when two bandits are ‘one his right and the one on his left.’ Then, the mother of the sons of Zebebee is there (27:56) when her sons and other disciples have fled. What are my desires? Am I able to drink of the cup and be with Jesus?
