To the ends of the earth

In today's reading we see Paul finding it difficult to convince the Jews and Greeks in Corinth that the Messiah they were expecting was Jesus - the person who had been crucified and rose from the dead in Jerusalem. In frustration, we see him take the message to the Gentiles in neighbouring countries, and hence the Word began to spread out and eventually, with brave missionaries, to our part of the world.
