SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

Acts 8:5-8, 14-17; Psalm 66; 1 Peter 3:15-18;
John 14:15-21

The Spirit of truth is with you

In today's reading Peter challenges us to be ready to defend our beliefs, but always with gentleness and reverence. He also reminds us that we may have to suffer because of our beliefs. However, what a wonderful promise Jesus gives us - that the Spirit of truth will continue to abide with us. Let us not only accept the challenge, but also respond to the invitation in the Psalm, to sing of the glory of God's name.
