The greatest commandment

Scientists continue to seek, perhaps in vain, the ‘theory of everything,’ the encapsulation and understanding of the entirety of the universe in one mathematical equation. When it comes to the Commandments however, Jesus has done just that, encapsulating the whole of the Law in one two-part commandment, inextricably interlinked and all-encompassing. The Beatles got it right: ‘All you need is love.’ Read and reflect on St Paul’s beautiful hymn to love (1 Corinthians 13).
