To be sure

Do you know where you are going? If you know your destination, do you know how to get there? Until the recent past, to answer such questions you probably consulted a map and a timetable for transport. Nowadays, you may get the information from Google. These provide you with a sure knowledge of where to go and how to get there. If, instead, you were to ask someone for this information you would be less sure that you had it right. You would need to trust them and their willingness to help you. You would also be putting trust in the accuracy of their knowledge. Jesus asks us to trust him about our destination and about how to get there. ‘Yahweh is my strength and shield. My heart puts its trust in him.’ Psalm 29 (28).
