It can be somewhat daunting to reflect on the call of the 12 apostles. It’s hard to imagine our own names being included amongst those Jesus wanted to be his companions because we’re so conscious of our own failings. But although the Twelve do indeed occupy a special place, we can also take great heart and encouragement from the message in today’s First Reading: ‘They will all know me, the least no less than the greatest.’
