O Come Emmanuel

The O Antiphons are most familiar to us in the hymn O come, O come Emmanuel. The verses of this hymn are images of Christ. We can use these images or titles as we address Christ in prayer around the table, or while lighting the candles of the Advent wreath. Let us give thanks for God’s faithfulness throughout the ages and in our lives. Come O Wisdom, Come O Lord of Might, Come O Rod of Jesse, Come O Key of David, Come O Dayspring, Come O Desire of Nations, Come O Emmanuel.
