The history of covenant

In Galatians, Paul is in a deeply prayerful place reflecting on God’s covenant of love with his people, from Abraham through to Christ Jesus. We see the significant figures in this story: Miriam and Moses, Ruth, David, the prophets, Anne and Joachim, Joseph. Each carried the promise and it was Mary’s “Yes” that brought it to fulfilment. In a lesser way we too carry that same promise. In each of us there is a virgin space where we become pregnant with God and give birth to Christ in the world.
