St Mary Magdalene

Song of Songs 3:1-4; Ps 63; John 20:1-2, 11-18

All will be forgiven

No sinner is too far gone to be forgiven. Nor is any sin too great. The example of one of the Bible’s greatest saints, Mary Magdalene, shows this. In a time when women were routinely stoned to death for adultery, Jesus openly forgave her when she repented of her past. In fact, he not only forgave her, he made her one of his closest friends.

How good am I at forgiving others? Do I leave them to make peace with God and look for ways to forgive myself for judging them? Do I pray quietly for them? I think I could do better. Lord, in your great mercy, help me love others rather than judge them.
