The gift of wisdom

Knowing God isn’t something we can just expect because we’re clever or study a lot or can debate the catechism with authority. This will certainly help us understand more about why we believe in God and can deepen our understanding and witness of our faith – but it will not, of itself, give us faith. Faith comes to our hearts directly from the Father, when they are open to receiving his word. Children have little difficulty in seeing God – it is when we get older that sometimes we forget the wisdom of simple faith.

Loving Lord, help me find some time and a place to pray for your presence to fill me today.
