God’s judgement is just

The people of Israel wanted the prophet Amos to preach elsewhere. This Amos was unable to do because he was sent to prophesy against Israel for straying from God’s ways. In the Gospel reading, Jesus shows he can heal both body and soul. For those who refuse to believe in him, there awaits a sterner judgement which will be played out at the foot of the cross. God’s judgement will always be just because we bring that judgement on ourselves by either listening to God’s Word or turning a deaf ear to it.
