God’s Word is effective

Nothing can stop the prophet Amos from proclaiming God’s Word even if what he says is not what Israel wants to hear. Nothing will stop God’s Word from doing what it sets out to do. Jesus calms the raging sea and the stormy winds by his word just as God created the world out of chaos by his Word. Jesus’ disciples wonder who he might be, but we know he is the Word of God made flesh. And we know that his Word will never pass away without completing what it was sent to do.
