The contagion of evil

Evil is like an infection. The wrong we do has its consequences. Though God forgives Ahab for the evil he has done, that evil is like a contagion. It has infected his whole House. Ahab may have escaped punishment, but not those who come after him. To avoid the contagion of evil we must be perfect as God is perfect. We must love even our enemies. After all, God causes the sun to rise on the bad and on the good, and sends rain to fall on the honest and on the dishonest alike.
