Fully alive

The image of the vine is a powerful expression of the relationship between Jesus and his followers. That relationship is something that is dynamic and ever growing and it is one that we are being constantly formed in by being ‘pruned.’ Sometimes we can imagine that simply being ‘part of the vine’ is sufficient – but unless we are willing to bear fruit by the way we live and act then our relationship with Jesus will wither and eventually die. Let us pray for the desire to continue to grow and to be the person we are called to be.
