Loving without reservation

For the Jews, the commandments were the ultimate expression of God’s covenant with them. So when Jesus says to his disciples that he is giving them a new commandment, his words carry great force and significance. This commandment is to not only love one another, but to love in the same manner as Jesus has loved them: totally, without qualification or reservation. That same commandment is given to us: we too are called to love others as Jesus loves us. Is that a commandment we are willing to live by?
