With open eyes

In the Gospel today, the Jews want certainty from Jesus – is he, or is he not, the Christ? We can sympathise with that desire for knowledge. But the answer the Jews are given is the same one we get when we fall into the trap of wanting certainty – we have already been given the answer to our question, but we fail to recognise it. Each day we are shown the works of Jesus in our daily lives – we have only to open our eyes and understand.
