The gift of life

In the first reading Saul works for the total destruction of the Church; in the Gospel Jesus tells us that he is the bread of life and that through him we will never be hungry and never thirst. The gift of life is available to all of us if we choose to believe in Jesus. Why wouldn’t we do that? And yet the reality is that we are sometimes like Saul – seeking to destroy whatever gets in our way. Let us remind ourselves of the promise of Jesus and renew our desire for life in him.
