Sincere discipleship

Sincerity is the fruit of unity. A person who is sincere is a person in whom body and soul are so united that it is impossible to tell where one ends and the other starts. Jesus Christ was such a person. He faced God squarely, prayed to God and listened to him. Am I with Jesus, following him right to the end of the way he marks out for me? Perhaps I invite division into my heart when the going gets tough and I stop following him preferring to smother the embarrassment of needing God with unnecessary, somewhat insincere Christian activity.
