God Has No Favourites

It may come as a surprise to some religious people, as it certainly did to the Jewish congregation in today’s Gospel, that God has no favourites! God loves every single human being equally, whether they’re Christian or not, believer or atheist, and desires everyone to be saved. As Christians we know that God has revealed himself fully in Jesus, and that “No one can come to the Father except through (him)” (John 14:5). But Jesus died and rose for all humankind and who are we to say who will or won’t go to Heaven?
