Praying for Ourselves

A valuable lesson on prayer in today’s 1st Reading. What should I pray for when I am praying for myself? Our personal needs (or wants?) tend to be predominant. and, of course, our loving and compassionate God welcomes and responds to our many requests. But aren’t all our material and personal needs already known to God? Perhaps the prayer that is most pleasing to God is for our spiritual needs, something like “Lord, help me today to love you more and to love others more.”
