Romans 6:19-23, Ps 1, Luke 12:49-53

Give thanks

“Happy are you whose delight is in the Lord. You are like a tree that is planted beside the flowing waters, that yields fruit in due season.” Today’s psalm uses the image of a tree to talk about our relationship with God. It’s a healthy productive tree. When you reflect on your journey with God, remember a time of delight and fruitfulness. Pause and give thanks. Just as the tree has many seasons, call to mind the seasons of your journey with God. Autumn – letting go and letting God; Winter – resting and waiting for God; Spring – new shoots of life; Summer – thirst for the water of life. Give thanks.
