Choose wisely

Jesus often tells us to look carefully at our choices. Are we with him – or is our loyalty elsewhere? We cannot, he says, in an echo of the First Commandment, serve both God and mammon. Even when we have firmly chosen to serve God, the opportunities to taste the fruit of mammon can be extremely tempting.

Strengthen my soul against all distractions that distance me from you, dear Lord, and may your grace in the lives of all people lead us to choose to serve you.
