Filling up the well
The disciples had been busy taking Jesus’ teachings to various communities. Jesus knew they all needed a rest, and he tried to organise a boat trip to a quiet place. It wasn’t quiet. Crowds had gathered in advance, and Jesus was moved with compassion for them. Goodbye, time of rest. We know this situation. At times we feel we’ve given ourselves away to the point of dryness. Our wells are empty. How will we fill them? For me, the answer is always Jesus.
