ST PETER CHANEL

Acts 13:44-52; Ps 96; John 15:12-17

Do what I command you

Today we honour our Marist saint Peter Chanel. The gospel tells us that a man can have no greater love than to lay down his life for his friend. Those first Marists who left France to spread the Gospel in Oceania did so because they believed in the power of the Gospel and the truth that it brings. For Peter Chanel this meant eventually losing his life. But the fruits of that death have been manifold. What is God asking of me in my life at present? What graces do I need so as to be a better witness to him?
