Light from light

How often do we, in the quiet of our hearts, wish we were privileged to wait with Jesus in Gethsemane? We are sure we would have stayed awake, praying for him. Yet, many of us fall asleep on our watch – we become tired, dispirited, afraid, lonely and our faith sometimes falters.

Dear Lord, may the fire of faith always burn brightly in me. May it comfort and warm me when I feel isolated and despairing, and act as a beacon of hope in my darkest hours.
