True Grit

Our Lord knew that if he were to go to the Holy City for the Passover on this occasion he would suffer and die. Yet “he resolutely took the road for Jerusalem.” Isaiah had foretold Jesus’ attitude in the third Servant Song. “I have set my face like a flint and I know that I shall not be put to shame.” Let’s learn from him. Let’s be brave. Let’s not flinch nor flag nor fail but face up to the difficulties in our way as, with the help of his grace, we make our way to life everlasting.
