Eccles 3: 1-11; Psalm 144; Luke 9: 18-22

It’s different today.

Jesus had every reason to instruct his closest associates not to reveal his identity. It would have been only too easy for the people of that time and place, given their political expectations, to misunderstand his mission and put it in jeopardy. Today it’s different. As his disciples we are called to make him known as the only one who can lead us, and our contemporaries, to eternal life. “Go into the whole world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.”
