Magnet for a Multitude

Waiting for Jesus when he came down from the hills were a large gathering of his followers and a great crowd of people many of whom were not Jewish. What attracted huge numbers to Jesus? Our Gospel states two reasons. They came to listen to him because, as we learn from elsewhere, he gave them meat to chew on when he spoke. They came for him to heal them. He speaks to us today in the Bible. He heals today especially in the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.
