Courage

Matthew’s passage warns of the trials that those who spread the word can expect. Bigotry, hatred and persecution. In spite of these warnings many have taken the challenge. Some have been treated harshly. Some have been martyred. Peter Chanel was one. Even today we read of Christians being ostracized, imprisoned and put to death. Shall we reflect on the courage shown by those who dedicate their lives to spreading God’s message and ask God to give them strength?
