Take up your cross

It is humiliating to recognize the way our personal weakness can wreck the most noble of our plans: where despite aiming to follow God in all things, we find ourselves making excuses and seeking a way out.

Let us pray for all people: that we may all find the courage and endurance to keep carrying our crosses for the love of Jesus. Let us especially pray for those who are being persecuted for their love of God, that our prayers may help them hold their crosses high in the face of adversity.
