The desire to help

Jesus had pity on the large crowd, selflessly. The disciples at first resisted helping Jesus, thinking their resources too little. But Jesus used what they had and it was enough. How often have I declined to help because I was selfish or thought I could not give enough? Does Jesus say through this miracle “have faith and give all you can”?
