The spiritual life is a series of fresh starts

The great king David turns bad. Just when he thought he had attained greatness he does a terrible sin against the plan of God [2 Sam 11:1-10,13-17]. As Jesus later said the great will be made small and the small be made great. I can conversely be consoled that my sinfulness will be forgiven and I can start again fresh [Psalm 50]. God is forever forgiveness and light. If I live my own truth, facing the darkness within me, God will grow within me like the smallest seed becoming the biggest tree [Mk 4:26-34].
