My wake up call

So often in life there is suddenly a change of fortune. Bad things often happen as a warning. Samuel and the people are defeated in a battle even though God’s presence is among them in the Ark of the Covenant. Why? Because the priest leaders have become corrupt. Similarly I must step back and examine myself [1 Sam 4:1-11]. Psalm 43 is a timely prayer of recognition and regret. But as always God’s love and mercy are there to cleanse me, restore me, get me back on track. God wants me to be well [Mk 1:40-45].
